Yellowstone Park, Tulsa Style

Well, I guess this is definitely the mark of summer in any community.  When we have to increase the water pressure due to high volume usage you get something extra special at times.

Today, was a glimpse of what can happen.  The 12 inch pipe that carries our water decided to burst.

Tulsa, the new Yellowstone Park?

This is not unusual during hot or cold seasons, but when the volume of water is increased, you increase the opportunity to have water line breaks.  Multiple can happen all over the pipe system in any town.

And this is not unusual for the water to be so high.  When you calculate the GPM (gallons per minute) you can see how the increase  has an effect on the piping system.

Where is it to go?  To the weakest point.  And in this case it was up.

Many drivers took the opportunity to slow down, allow the high pressure water to rinse off their cars and move on.

The two-wheeled variety were not so happy about the geyser.  But they still continued onward.

One Response to Yellowstone Park, Tulsa Style

Probabaly a “one and done” type of blast (at least at that section of pipe). Sorry I missed it, I would have been able to scratch Yellowstone off my “must-see” list (NOT).
